When I go through the editing process I pick out the best pictures and go to work editing and then I delete the ones that didn't turn out at all. But usually I have the challenge of deciding what to do with those in-between pictures.
Problem solved...I've decided to start adding an "out takes" folder to all photo sessions with kids. This is an undetermined amount of photos it just depends on the photo session. These are the pictures I thought were too funny to delete. I know the parents will laugh and appreciate them but they probably aren't going to be enlarged and put on the wall. I don't spend the time editing them I just want them to be remembered. Parents tend to get frustrated when their kids aren't cooperating. This is just a reminder of how much fun it can be and no kid has a PERFECT photo session.
EXAMPLE 1: Here is a series of photos literally taken within three seconds.

| I'm amazed when we do happen to get all kids smilling at once. |
EXAMPLE 2: Here we have Maven just practicing his new walking skills along a picture perfect walkway

| BAM...FACE PLANT, don't worry he jumped right back up |
I hope parents appreciate the new "out takes" folder they will find on their CD of images. It has become one of my favorite parts of putting together the final product.
