My name is Charlsie Lyn Oliverson I am a wife to a very busy medical resident and mother to the most handsome one-year-old I know. My family has been my inspiration for photography. Now that I am a mom I recognize even more how important it is to capture all of those amazing moments and events in the lives of our families.
People often ask how long I've been doing photography. I guess it all started when I was 16 and got my very own camera. I've been doing graphic design and photo editing for 8 years, I started taking photography classes 7 years ago and I finally got a camera I love 2 years ago. Photography has been a love of mine for years unfortunately not my focus until recently.
I graduated with my bachelor degree in Communication from BYU-Idaho in 2006. While at BYU-Idaho I took all the Graphic Design and Photography classes I could fit into my schedule. Shortly after graduation I served a mission in Italy for the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I returned in 2008 and got engaged to my now husband Brad Oliverson. While we were engaged I worked in Arizona for Anasazi a wilderness therapy program for troubled youth. December 27, 2008 we were married and I moved to Iowa to join my husband while he attended Des Moines University as a med student. At that point I wanted to start a photography business but we couldn't afford the investment for all the equipment I needed and wanted. I started working for Wells Fargo and transfered with Wells Fargo when we moved to Casper Wyoming the summer of 2010. In September 2010 our first son was born and I dreaded going back to work and leaving him with a babysitter but I did it.
In June 2011 we were once again relocated and I just couldn't get myself to leave my son and continue working long banking hours. So I finally took the leap and started focusing on photography and I haven't looked back. It's been a creative outlet for me, I'm able to do something I love, I can stay home with my son and I can regulate my work load. I love it and hope that you will love the work I do.
My studio is currently set up in Corvallis OR. I can photograph newborns and children in a cozy indoor studio and everything else I do in natural light.
